Enviro Group helps Piwakawaka

Well done to Mitchell, Tane, Elisabeth, Riley and Caleb P-E who helped the children in Piwakawaka plant out their new planter box yesterday. Well done guys, it is great to see you sharing your new knowledge with younger members of our school :)

Man are we busy!

It is definitely summer time at Southbrook, and to kick it off the enviro group has been busy shifting bark, painting bench seats and trimming our native area!
Here are some pics of the team hard at work with Mr Jenkins this morning. Well done guys!

Our Awesome Planter Box!

A big thanks to Mr Jenkins who helped us build and paint our new planter box which now lives outside Piwakawaka!
It already has a lovely strawberry plant growing in it, and Mrs Lindsay hopes to get some more growing in there for her class!
We look forward to seeing more around our school
Check out the pics :)
Thanks to Lucy for taking the pictures

Getting our hands dirty!

A big thanks to Mr Jenkins and Bruce Odgers for supplying the horse manure yesterday! The enviro group enjoyed getting out in the sun, applying the horse manure to our vegetable patches. What an awesome crop of fresh vege we are going to have this summer!
Here are some pics of the action
